This course teaches students to perform basic editing functions while becoming familiar with the Final Cut Pro user interface. Start with basic video editing techniques and work all the way through Final Cut Pro's powerful advanced features. Learn to mark and edit clips, mix sound, add titles, create transitions, apply filters, and more. Topics include basic setup, customizing preferences and settings, capturing video and audio, various editing and trimming techniques, Ripple, Roll, Slip, and Slide tools, audio editing and audio creation, finishing and final output.

Course Description:

This class is designed for those who have mastered basic editing skills and want to get more out of Final Cut Pro. This class focuses on effects and graphics, as well as some advanced editing techniques. This is not an editing class, but a class designed to get you past editing and using many of Final Cut Pro's more advanced effects. In particular, working with keyframes for motion and filter effects is emphasized. Students also work with lots of layered sequences, create motion and filter favorites, and get a better understanding of layering and composting with Final Cut Pro.
